Product description

Palmar forearm orthosis CH-71.

Indication:

Fixation or immobilisation (Forte version) of the wrist, hand and long fingers after injuries (e.g. distorsion), surgery and fixation with plaster of Paris. Conservative treatment in tendonitis, inflammation and degenerative diseases of the wrist, hand and long fingers even as rest–ing splint. Rehabilitation phase after hand surgery and adjuvant therapy in Sudeck’s dystrophy.

Application and adjusting:

The ready to adjust Chrisofix® orthoses have to be adjusted directly on the in-jured/diseased body part. The rough adjustment (bending) has to be performed on a non-injured limb of similar size. Fine adjustments, readjustments (e.g. after soft tissue swelling is reduced) can be made without removing the orthesis.

  • Shape the orthesis on the not injured hand, wrist and forearm.
  • Set the wrist into the required position.
  • Put the arm with the palmar side into the preshaped orthosis.
  • Adjust the orthosis with gentle pressure to the hand and forearm.
  • Fasten the bandages over the fingers, hand and forearm.

To remove the orthosis, it is not necessary to open the strap on back of the hand; the hand can simply be pulled out from and later shifted back into thefixation. Frequent bending and stretching of the orthosis can damage its stability;these must be restricted to the necessary minimum.
